Harriet J. Scheuber
(nee Slapnicar)
Age 91. At peace on Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Born in Joliet to Joseph and Frances (nee Brate) Slapnicar, she was a lifetime area resident and most recently a resident at the Inn at Willow Falls. A retired teacher, she taught school at St. John the Baptist Grade School and the Cathedral of St. Raymond Grade School.
Survived by her children, Richard (Mary Beth) Scheuber and Jane (Tom) Nolan; grandchildren, Scott (Gloria) Scheuber, Michael and Brian Scheuber; Patrick Nolan, Sean (Lyndi) Nolan and Maggie Nolan; two sisters-in-law, Gen Scheuber and Delores Mack; brothers-in-law, Steve Jacobs and Walter Michaels.
Preceded in death by her husband, Richard Scheuber; parents; six sisters, Paul Bevan Grego, Stella (Louis) Legan, Christine "Tina" Slapnicar, Josephine "Jo" (Ralph) Ambrose, Mildred "Micky" Jacobs and Bernice L. "Cissy" Michaels; one brother, Joseph "Sonny" Slapnicar.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Inn at Willow Falls and the staff at Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care.
It was Harriet's wish to have her remains donated to the Anatomical Gift Association for the further advancement of medical research. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus. All friends and relatives may gather at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Arrangements by:
