Obituary of Barbara Schoppe

Barbara Jean Schoppe Age 66, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 2, 1942 in Joliet, to the late Richard and Genevieve (nee Burro) White. She attended Joliet Township High School where she graduated in 1960. Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Cantigny Post #367. She had worked at the VFW for over 37 years as a waitress and bartender, retiring in 2005. She is survived by her wonderful and caring husband, George Gerald Schoppe; two daughters, Michelle (Dwayne) Dupre and Susan (Thomas) Christensen; one son, Robert (Beverly) Carrington; three grandchildren, Amanda Schoppe; and Nancy and Richard Carrington; four special friends, Annie Bartoli, Renae Holm, Vicki Rapsin and Barbara Craig. Preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Nancy (White) Carrington; and numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral Services for Barbara Jean Schoppe will be Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Craig Miller officiatnig. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
