Age 47. Passed away on her terms, Friday, August 6, 2010 at her late residence in the arms of her husband.
Born March 13, 1963 in Chicago, IL, she was formerly of Cicero and had resided in Plainfield the past 14 years.
Marlene was a RN, she cared for many veterans over the years at Hines VA Hospital. She was a selfless person who always saw the good in people, and forever put others first.
Beloved wife of Lou Scola; Loving mother of Louis Jr. and Joseph. Dearest daughter of Helga (Siefert) Perry and Michael Perry (Jeanne Reese). Fond sister of Michael (Carrie) Perry. Cherished daughter-in-law of Lou and Celeste Scola. Dear sister-in-law of Don (Tina), Jack (Deb), Pete and Sam (Trudy) Scola. Proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her faithful Shitzu's.
Also survived by countless wonderful friends, who supported, loved, laughed and perhaps even wept with Mar throughout her nearly year-long journey. Their dedication and amazing compassion will always be remembered.
Funeral services for Marlene Scola will be held Monday, August 9, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Marlene P. Scola benefit fund through any Harris Bank location. Visitation Sunday from 1-9 p.m. and Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the services begin at:
