Stephen V. Biro
"Steve"
Age 89. At rest Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Joliet to the late Stephen and Barbara (nee Molnar) Biro, he was a lifelong resident. Graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1938. A WWII U.S. Army veteran, serving in the South Pacific. Retired from U.S. Steel in 1981 following 32 years of service. Life member of Cantigny Post VFW #367. Member of the Church of St. Anthony and S.O.A.R.
Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Violet (nee Paluzzi) Biro of Joliet; his three sons, John (Amy) Biro of Milwaukee, WI, James (Jae) Biro of Joliet and Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Biro of Arizona; five granddaughters, Cristina (John) Benson of London, England, Jessica Biro of Joliet, Abigail, Emily and Sarah Biro of Arizona; two great-grandchildren, Katie and Jack Benson; brother-in-law of Lillian (Joseph) Bonczek, Angela (late Henry) Giermala and Edith (late Chester) D'Atri all of Joliet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral Services for Stephen V. Biro will be Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home to the Church of St. Anthony for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery with military honors conducted by the U.S. Army. Visitation Wednesday 3-8 p.m. at:
