Mildred Louise Shell
"Millie"
Age 86, of Morris, IL and formerly of Wilmington, IL, she retired to McAllen, TX, moving back to Morris in March of this year. Born November 28, 1922 in Gibson City, IL, she was the daughter of Harry and Bessie (Hoy) Wolfe. She was married at the Methodist Church of Gibson City, IL on April 14, 1940 to Harvard Leo Shell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvard Leo Shell; three sisters, Ethel Blanche Wolfe, Margaret Bernice Kohn, and Martha Ruth Lewis; two brothers, Virgil Harry and Richard Eugene Wolfe; two half-brothers, Dana and Irvin Wolfe; one grandson, Craig Way.
Surviving are her two children, Nancy Ann (Roy) Pearce of Lake Wales, FL and Harvey Lee (Deborah) Shell of Morris, IL; two grandchildren, Barry L., and Bryan L. (Jennifer) Shell, both of Morris; three great-grandchildren, Austin Shell, Macy and Madelyn Shell; one sister, Patricia Ann Howard of Beaumont, TX; one brother-in-law, Herbert (Beverly) Shell of Piper City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed garage sales, playing cards, bowling, bird watching, fishing and was a very crafty person with needlepoint, sewing and crocheting afghans.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington for the interment of Mildred and Harvard Shell, with Rev. Tom Ostrander officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ortiz Eye Center in Morris in Mildred's name to benefit nursing home patients. Arrangements by:
