Obituary of Mary Shepley

Mary Agnes Shepley (nee O'Brien) Age 86. At rest, Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Wilmington, IL to the late John "Jay" R. and Florence E. (nee Haley) O'Brien, she was a lifelong Joliet area resident and part-time resident of Pompano Beach, FL. Graduate of Wilmington High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing. A retired R.N., formerly employed by St. Joseph Hospital, and Dr.'s Fahrner, Duffy, and Richards. Former President of the Cathedral of St. Raymond School Mother's Club. Member of the Ladies of the Elk's Lodge #296, the Lady Duffers of the Joliet Park District, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, the Paulites and St. Gabriel Catholic Church of Pompano Beach, FL. She enjoyed golf and playing cards with her friends. Surviving are five children, Vickie (Tom) Kraczon of PA, Susan Bertino of Joliet, Mary Rae (Dante) Neyra of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jayne (Mike) Sinchak of Manhattan, IL and Jay (Cindy) Shepley of Essex, IL; proud grandmother of Dante and Tanya Neyra; Matt, Nick, and Nate Bertino; Emily and Sarah Sinchak; Kate and Kim Kraczon; one great-granddaughter, Danyele Bertino; one brother, Jim (late Virginia) O'Brien of Lemont, IL; one sister-in-law, Louise (late Paul) Shepley of AZ; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends in IL and FL. Preceded in death by her husband, George "Ray" Shepley (1985), parents; her son, Mark E. Shepley (1985), and brother, Richard O'Brien. A Memorial Mass for Mary Agnes Shepley will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Avenue, Joliet. with inurnment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. Visitation will be TUESDAY MORNING at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
