Richard E. Shiffer
"Rich"
Passed away Monday, December 3, 2007. Born in Joliet to the late Charles and Mary (nee Metzger) Shiffer, he was a lifelong resident. Graduate of Joliet Township High School Central Campus. A WWII U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Asiatic/Pacific Theater. Formerly employed by D&M Motors in Romeoville as parts manager. Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and a life member of Cantigny Post VFW #367.
Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Josephine (nee Sukle) Shiffer of Joliet; his son, Richard "Todd" (Jaclyn) Allen of Joliet; two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Danielle) Allen of Joliet and Kayci Allen of Arizona; one great-grandchild on the way; brother-in-law, Joseph Sukle of Joliet; sister-in-law, Frances R. Moore of Joliet; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Charles Shiffer.
Funeral Services for Rich Shiffer were held on Thursday, December 6, 2007. Memorials in his name to St. Joseph Catholic Church Restoration Fund would be appreciated. Arrangements by:
