Obituary of Martha Smego

Martha L. Smego (nee Addington) Age 85, of Joliet, and formerly of Chetek, WI, passed away suddenly Friday, December 25, 2009 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, after falling on ice on Thursday. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be long remembered for her love for her family and her sewing. Survived by her two children, Russell (Barbara) Smith of Oswego, and Martha Ann (Allan) Yarmer of Verona; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Carol (Sam) Brandolino of Shorewood, and Barbara (Harry "Buzz") Dinoffria of Joliet; one step-son, Robert J. (Sandy) Smego, Jr. of Joliet; eight step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren. Preceded by her husbands, Paul E. Smith (Oct. 3, 1962) and Robert J. Smego, Sr. (Feb. 1, 2008); her parents, Frederick L. and Ruth M. (nee Lyons) Addington; one brother, Charles "Bud" Addington; and two sisters, Josephine Stump and Ethel Sexton. Funeral services for Martha L. Smego will be Tuesday, December 29. 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
