Obituary of David Soviak

David Bradley Soviak Age 48, of Plainfield, passed away at home after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born August 13, 1960 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Survived by his loving wife, Cynthia (Hamrick) and three loving children, Alexander, Jacqueline and Nathaniel. Also survived by his mother, Barbara (Ken) Morrissette and siblings, Nancy, Becky and Robert Soviak. Also special in-laws William and Shirley Hamrick, Gerry and Patty Bedore, and Jay and Kayla Hamrick. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Aaron and Dean Hamrick, Craig, Stacy, Christopher, Scotty and Shannon Bedore; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by his beloved father, John Soviak, Jr.; grandparents, John Sr. and Casmira Soviak and Joseph and Rosemary Keweza. David was a graduate of Lockport High School and Florida Southern University where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He obtained his Master's Degree from Illinois Benedictine University. David loved his family, his church, cooking, and fishing with his sons in Michigan. He was a big man with an even bigger heart, and will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services for David Soviak will be Friday, September 5, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Plainfield, for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
