Obituary of Marion Stafford

Marion L. Stafford (nee Offerman) Age 83, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Provena Villa Franciscan. Born in Joliet to the late Fred M. and Ida (nee Hartung) Offerman, she was a lifelong Joliet area resident. A member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the Western Catholic Union, Branch 21-183, where she was a past Branch President. Preceded in death by her husband, John "Tiny" J. Stafford (1980); her parents; two brothers, Robert Offerman and Donald Offerman in infancy. Survived by, whom Marion considered her children, Monica (Rich) Lane of Joliet, and James (Jennifer) Goebel of Bradley, IL; loving Grams to Meghan and Justin Lane; Gretchen, Zita and Phalen Goebel; one sister, Arlene Knarr of Joliet; one brother, Richard Offerman of Lakeland, FL; Special "Aunt Mamie" to several nieces and nephews including her niece and godchild, Elaine Pierce. Many cousins and friends including her special friend, Norma Sparks, also survive. She was also a fond great aunt and great-great aunt. Funeral Services for Marion L. Stafford will be Wednesday July 16, 2008, 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Jude Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice, Provena Villa Franciscan or St. Jude Catholic Church, in her memory would be appreciated.
