Obituary of Florence Stephenson

Florence G. Stephenson (nee Hajek) Age 82. Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Chicago and a Joliet area resident since 1974. Attended Gage Park High School and secretarial school. Retired from Sinclair Oil Co. in 1952, married her beloved husband, Ben of 50 years. Upon Ben's retirement from Com Ed they enjoyed traveling within the states and abroad, traveling to Europe and especially her homeland Czechoslovakia in which she was so proud. An avid animal lover. Survived by two sons, Don (Patricia) Stephenson of Centennial, CO and Bill Stephenson of Joliet; one daughter, Amy (Mike) Moran of Shorewood; four grandchildren, Megan and Matthew Stephenson; Kevin and Kurt Moran. Preceded in death by her husband, Bennie B. Stephenson (2004); parents, George and Anna Hajek. The Stephenson family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Genowefa Mikiewkz for providing our parents with the best of care. We consider you an angel sent from above. Stephenson will be Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
