Obituary of Forrest Stewart JR
Forrest L. Stewart, Jr.
Age 85. At rest Monday, January 18, 2010 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Jackson, TN to the late Forrest Sr. and Sadie Mae (nee Spain) Stewart), he was a resident of Joliet since 1969. A WWII U.S. Army Air Corps veteran. Retired from Illinois Central Gulf Railroad in 1984 following 38 years of service. Formerly employed as a security guard for AT&T. Member of the Illinois Association of Forresters. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Valley of Bloomington Masonic Lodge Ancient Scottish Rite.
Survived by his loving wife of 49 years and ten months, Martha (nee Viers) Stewart of Joliet; children, Thomas L. Stewart, Charles (Linda) Stewart, Marjorie L. Smith, Judy Marie Warren, Phillip (Cecelia) Mansfield, Wilbert L. Stewart; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Paul Stewart, Robert E. Stewart, Fred Stewart, Cora Fincher and Mary Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Reba Ann Bishop; one son, Michael Mansfield.
Funeral Services will be held in Jackson, Tennessee with interment at Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson. Memorials in his name to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. LOCAL VISITATION Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 4-8 p.m. at:
