A graduate of Joliet Township High School, Class of 1933. She married Anton William Blazevic December 30, 1939 and they shared 44 wonderful years together until his passing in 1984. Anton founded Modern Home Builders of Joliet (later Modern Builders Industrial Concrete Company) in 1947 of which Elvira was very supportive and instrumental in its success throughout the years. Prior to her marriage, she was employed at Goldblatt's Department Store in yards goods where her ability to instantly price material was amazing. She was also an excellent seamstress, sewing everything from wedding gowns to coats.
Beloved mother of Tana (Mel) Gray of Joliet and Terrance (Georgia) Blazevic of Shorewood. Loving and devoted grandmother of Jennifer (Marc) Stanley of Oak Park, Rachel (Olof) Anderson of Naperville and Stephanie Gray of Chicago; April (Matthew) Woodside of Bradenton, FL, Alisha (Nicki) of Duluth, MN, and the late Bryce A.G. Blazevic (2008). Dearest great-grandmother of Leif, Steffan and twins, Annika and Charlotte Anderson, Zachary and Catherine Woodside, Samuel, Benjamin and Josephine Blazevic-Seibert. She will also be missed by her dear friends, Mary Lu Silk, Louise "Weezee" Simmons and Mary Lou Langdon.

Elvira, a woman of deep faith, was a founding member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and a member of the Paulites. She was a benefactor to her church and to many local charitable organizations.
Elvira loved the outdoors. As a young woman she could be found horseback riding at the old Woodruff Stables or swimming at Joliet's Michigan Beach. She enjoyed gardening and golfed up to age 91. Winning various golf tournaments through the years she also was an original member of the Joliet Country Club Women's Golf Team. In the 1950's she and her husband were the first to waterski on the Kankakee River, and over the years introduced their family and friends to the sport.
The family wishes to gratefully thank the staff, nurses and caregivers at Willow Falls and Vitas Hospice.
