Norman R. Stoiber
"Norm"
Age 82. Peacefully Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, with his family by his side. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. A graduate of Joliet Catholic High School Class of 1943, and St. Patrick's Catholic Grade School Class of 1939. A WWII U.S. Navy Veteran, a Yeoman Second Class, he was a survivor of the attack of the U.S.S. Saratoga. Retired from Prairie Farms/Weber Dairy as a route man, after over 35 years of service. Member of VFW Cantigny Post #367, the Chaney Progressive Club, and an active volunteer at St. Anne Catholic Church. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.
Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy B. (nee Randich) Stoiber of Crest Hill; four sons, Norm (Peggy) Stoiber of Crest Hill, Jerry (Joan) Stoiber of Mokena, Bernie Stoiber of San Diego, CA and Joe Stoiber of Oak Park, IL; one daughter, Lynn (Dave) Mattioli of Egan, MN; six grandsons, Tom (Jessie), Brian, Jeffrey, Jason and Jake Stoiber; and Nicholas Mattioli; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan Stoiber; his devoted caregiver, Jeff Natsagdori; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Anna (nee Kuffel) Stoiber; and one brother, LaVerne Stoiber.
Funeral Services for Norman R. Stoiber will be Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Nativity Catholic Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the United States Navy.
