Surges, James M.
Age 69. At rest Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Joliet to the late Clarence and Neva (nee Wilson) Surges, he was a lifelong area resident. A veteran of the U.S. Army. Retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 1999 following over 30 years of service. Jim enjoyed sports, including coaching baseball, spending time with his grandchildren and being involved in all their activities.
Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Trudy (nee Markley) Surges; three children, Lyn (Bill) Warren, Jim (Lisa) Surges, Jr. and Matthew (Dana) Surges all of Plainfield; ten grandchildren, Alisha, Zach, Luc, Austin, Courtney, Jake, Bailey, Reese, Tasha and Brooke; four sisters, Joan, Jeanette, Joyce and Jackie; five brothers, Clarence, Johnny, Joey, Jerry and Tom; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and two brothers.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Jim's sister-in-law, Diane Markley for the love and special care that she has shown.
Funeral Services for James M. Surges will be Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Friday 4-8 p.m. at:
