Obituary of Josephine Svihla

Josephine A. Svihla (nee Sutor) Age 90, formerly of Cicero, and late of Joliet, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009 at home, surrounded by her devoted family. Josephine loved traveling, sewing, cooking and spending time with friends and family. She was a former member of Mary Queen of Heaven Church in Cicero, where she was active in Marian Council and the school. She was also a former Cub Scout den leader. She especially enjoyed her faithful companion, Wrigley. Survived by her loving son, Ken (Karen) Svihla; two cherished grandchildren, Samantha and Michael, all of Joliet; a sister-in-law, Betty Young; nieces and nephews, Bill Sutor, Ann Dunn, Scott Sutor, April Sutor, Bruce Sutor, Diane Parrotino, Gary Young, and Elinor Huey; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Frank J. Svihla, Jr. (November 14, 2005); her parents, Anthony and Anna (Potempa) Sutor; one brother, Bill (Bunny) Sutor; and one sister, Ann Sutor. Funeral Services for Josephine A. Svihla will be Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Ambrose Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.
