Norman Swithin
Age 80. Friday, September 28, 2007 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. A U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, he served in Germany as a Staff Sergeant. Retired from the former Reynolds Aluminum Company in McCook, IL as a millwright, after 43 years of service. He was a great father and wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather, who was generous, unique and very much loved. He loved to plant flowers and enjoyed the beauty of nature.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Dorothy E. (nee Sharp) of Joliet; one son, Terry (Kathryn) Swithin of Tennessee; one daughter, Beverly Swithin of Joliet; stepdaughter, Carrie (Jack) Cagwin of Lockport; six grandchildren, Tina Porter of CA, Renee Swithin of CA, Eric Swithin of TX , Adam Swithin of Joliet, Alexa and Abbey Cagwin of Lockport; two great-grandchildren, McKenna and Kailani Porter; one brother, Joseph (Shirley) Swithin; and one sister, Betty (Harold) Willard.
Preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Merle (Larry) Carlson and Lola Swithin; one brother, Robert Swithin; and one stepdaughter, Rebecca Swithin.
Private Funeral Services for Norman Swithin were held on Sunday, September 30, 2007. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements by:
