Raymond F. Talkie
Raymond F. Talkie, age 84, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2007, at home. He was born on February 10, 1923, and was a lifelong resident of Joliet.
Raymond retired from Nabisco after thirty-five years. Following retirement he worked with his son Jim's company, Contemporary Builders, of Joliet/Shorewood. He was an active member of St. Patrick's Church while his children attended school, and past president of the Holy Name Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Frances Talkie, and his loving wife of almost fifty years, Florence DelMargo Talkie.
Beloved father of Ramonda Talkie, of Chicago; James (Kristina) Talkie, of Florida ; and Robert Talkie, of Joliet. Dearest grandfather of Trevor James and Grant Louis. Brother of Thomas Talkie. Uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.
Raymond was a graduate of Joliet Township High School and a veteran of the United States Navy. He served in the Pacific during the Second World War.
A private memorial service will be held on Friday, June 8, 2007, at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home in Joliet, followed by Mass at St. Patrick's Church, and interment at Valley Memorial Park in Spring Valley, Illinois. For questions call: 815-741-5500
