Bloch, Dorothy M.
(nee Krieger)
Age 86. Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Provena Villa Franciscan. Born in Joliet, she was a lifetime resident. Graduate of St. Francis Academy. She retired from the State of Illinois Bureau of Identification. Formerly employed at the American Institute of Laundry. Her greatest love in life was raising her eight children.
Preceded in death by her husband, Alfred F. Bloch; parents, Albert and Mary (nee Schauer) Krieger; four brothers, Frank, Albert, Edward and Robert Krieger; two sisters, Alma McLaughlin and Marian Drauden.
Survived by eight children, Michael A. (Chris Moran) Bloch of Shorewood, William J. Bloch of Joliet, Sue Bloch of Crest Hill, Linda M. (Kenneth) Herbert of New Lenox, Joan M. (Mike Neilson) Bloch, Ann E. (Charles) Binzen, Nancy T. Bloch, all of Joliet and Mary C. (Preston Guy) Stewart of Crest Hill; seven grandchildren, Philip, Jeffery (Victoria), Eric, James, Michelle (Tristan Martin), Valerie and Kevin; three great-grandchildren, Evan, Jenna and Aubree; two sisters, Shirley (late Vernon) Revis and Beatrice (late Thomas) McDonald, both of Joliet; brother-in-law, James (Donna) Bloch of Joliet; sisters-in-law, Jean (late Darwin) Gunderson and Helen (late Robert) Krieger both of Joliet; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Dorothy M. Bloch will be Monday, June 20, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Bernard Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Good Shepherd Manor in Momence, IL, Joliet Area Community Hospice, or Will County Children's Advocacy Center would be appreciated.
