Obituary of Leona Tessiatore

Leona Tessiatore "Lee" (nee Curtis) At rest Monday, October 5, 2009 at Silver Cross Hospital. Born in Joliet, she was a lifelong Lockport/Joliet area resident. Graduate of Joliet Central High School. Active in the Joliet Artist League. Survived by her loving husband, Bernard P. Tessiatore of Lockport; two children, Susan Hearne of Orland Park, and Robert (Mary) Tessiatore of Downers Grove; five grandchildren, Beth (Evan) Scharfer, Joshua T. Hearne; Dominic, Elizabeth and David Tessiatore; one great-grandson, Nolan L. Scharfer; one sister, Caroline Baldwin of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Frances (nee Oberstar) Kerkos; and one sister, Louise Makovec. Funeral Services for Leona Tessiatore will be Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home to the Church of St. Anthony, Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
