Obituary of Karen Thomas

Thomas, Karen L. (nee Starr) Age 68. Monday, May 23, 2011 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, after a long illness. Beloved mother of Pamela Bick, Eugene "Chip" (Cara) Adler and Jeff Adler. Dear grandmother of Nicole, Logan and Faith Smith; Brandy and Rocky Ritter, Rachel Martinez, Candace and Jacqueline Bick; Jordyn and Taylor Adler; Megan, Sara and Miles Adler. Loving daughter of Kathlyn (late Paul) Yack. Dear sister of Paul "Terry" (Sharon) Yack. Many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins also survive. Karen was a graduate of St. Francis Academy and Joliet Junior College. She enjoyed ceramics, and had owned and operated KT's Dynamic Ceramics in Joliet. She was also previously employed by Caterpillar and CTC Communications. Funeral Services for Karen L. Thomas will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Patrick Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment at St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to St. Patrick Church in Joliet would be appreciated. Visitation Monday, 4-8 p.m. at: FRED C.
