Cianflone Thomson, Edith
(nee Glasgow)
Age 86, passed away Friday, December 3, 2010 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born November 10, 1924 in Wyndmere, ND, she was a long time Plainfield and Shorewood area resident. She worked for many years as a secretary for the F.E. Marsh Grade School in Joliet. Member of Sharon United Methodist Church in Plainfield, Plainfield Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and Will County Home Extension Homettes Unit.
Surviving are her children, Sandra (late Kenneth) Prodehl, Charlene (fiance Tim Dallavia) Pastore, James (Penny) Thomson, and John (Laure) Thomson; six grandchildren, Kim Keiser, Toby (Jennifer) Coover, Dustin (Keri) Anderson, Megan Thomson, Chris Galindo, Greg (Jen) Prodehl, and Dawn (Darrin) Butler; 11 great-grandchildren, Justin, Joshua, Tanner, Jessica, Amanda, Anthony, Morgan, Anna, Brandon, Tyler and Courtney; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Grace (Melvin) Karstens; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her first husband, James Kenneth Thomson; her second husband, Charles Cianflone; her parents, Arthur and Laura Glasgow; brothers, Glen, Wayne and Robert Glasgow; sisters, Iva Smith, Ellen Kurth, and Ruth Bolden.
The family would like to thank Troy Fire Department Paramedics, Provena Saint Joseph ER doctor, Dr. Nieche, fourth floor ICU nurses and Dr. Steven Nemeth and Dr. Surendra Gulati for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sharon United Methodist Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
Memorial Services for Edith Cianflone will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Sharon United Methodist Church, Plainfield at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services. Arrangements by:
