Frances A. Tomac

Age 86. Passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Joliet on November 2, 1920 to the late John and Antonia (nee Kezerle) Batusich. She was a lifelong Crest Hill resident. Graduate of Chaney School. Formerly employed by the American Can Co. Member of St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. Frances was a very loving and generous person who put the needs of others before her own. She was devoted to her family, church and friends. She loved to bake, especially potica and cakes, for the holidays and birthdays. Frances, along with her husband taught their children love and respect and gave them the foundation for their faith in God, for which they are eternally grateful.
Preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Tomac, Sr. (1992); her parents; one brother, John (Cecelia) Batusich; two sisters, Katherine (Walter) Jankovich and Tillie (Chuck) Marketti.
Survived by her two sons, Andrew J. Tomac, Jr. of Crest Hill and Thomas L. (Karen) Tomac of Joliet; her daughter, Mary Ann (William) Buchanan of Lockport; three grandchildren, Michael Adam Tomac, Zachary and Elizabeth Buchanan; two sisters, Elizabeth (late Alex) Fier of Plainfield and Agnes (late Gene) Starr of Palm Bay, FL; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of both Lakewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Harbor Light Hospice. Their tender loving care and consolation they gave to our mother will never be forgotten.
Funeral Services for Frances A. Tomac will be Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Nativity Cemetery. Memorials in her name to Harbor Light Hospice would be greatly appreciated. Visitation Friday 2-8 p.m. at:
