Obituary of Joseph Tordai

Joseph G. Tordai "Uncle Joe" Age 91. At rest Monday, October 12, 2009 at Iroquois County Memorial Hospital in Watseka, IL. Born in Joliet to the late Andrew and Elizabeth (nee Juhasz) Tordai, he was a lifelong resident of the Elwood area where he farmed for over 80 years. Retired from Laraway School, following 20 years of service. Member of the Will County Farm Bureau. Former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. Surviving are his sister, Betty (late Walter) Sowa of Joliet; his sister-in-law, Norma (late Michael) Tordai of Shorewood; dear uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Andrew (Helen) and Michael Tordai; two sisters, Mary (Geza) Nemeth and Isabelle (Geza) Garnai. Funeral Services for Joseph G. Tordai will be Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials in his name to Merkle Knipprath Countryside would be appreciated.
