Obituary of Aida Valera

Aida P. Valera Aida P. Valera, age 88, of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2011 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, surrounded by her caring family. Born December 9, 1922 in the Philippines, she was the daughter of Mariano and Concha (Trullench) Paredes. She attended the University of Santo Tomas and served as an elementary school teacher. Aida was a pious and prayerful woman who was devoted to her husband and children and their families. Surviving are her loving husband, Cesar Valera; her devoted children, Cesar (Angelita) Valera, Federico (Thelma) Valera, Joselito (Irma) Valera, Egidio (late Mila) Valera, Josefa Ubando, and Dennis Valera; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Violeta Valera; and one daughter-in-law, Florinda Valera. She was preceded in death by one son, Mariano Valera, and her parents. A Memorial Mass for Aida Valera was celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Shorewood.
