Obituary of Richard Vanderhyden JR
Vanderhyden, Richard H. Jr.
Age 58, of Manhattan, died suddenly Friday, March 2, 2012 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born September 10, 1953 in Joliet to the late Richard and Dorothy (nee Carlson) Vanderhyden, Sr., a graduate of Joliet Central High School. He was employed by Caterpillar, Inc. for 38 years as a machinist and was an active and devoted member of the International Association of Machinists Local #185. Active member of Ingalls Park A.C. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and a loving father and grandfather.
Survived by his fiancee, Vicki (nee Gilbert) Placher of Manhattan; three sons, Ryan of Joliet, Todd (Becky) of Joliet and Marc Vanderhyden of Manhattan; four grandchildren, Grace, Nathan, Nora and Shawn; four brothers, Randall (Diane), Robert (Kathy), Ronald (Elizabeth) and Russell Vanderhyden; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Richard H. Vanderhyden, Jr. will be Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private. Visitation Tuesday 2-8 p.m. at:
