Betty H. Bolen
(nee Burger)
Age 84, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 18, 2011 from Walnut Grove Nursing Home following a courageous battle with congestive heart failure, with her family by her side. Born in Morris and a lifelong Morris resident. A graduate of St. Mary's College of Notre Dame, Indiana with a degree in Art, and St. Angela's Academy Class of 1944. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Her greatest loves in life were spending time with her family and reading a good book.
Preceded in death by her husband, George R. "Bob" Bolen (1981); one granddaughter, Angela Doss; her parents, Martin and Theresa (nee Kraemer) Burger; one brother in infancy; two sisters-in-law, Marge Burger and Mandy Burger.
Survived by two sons, Michael (Mary "Fran" nee Hanson) Bolen of Morris and John (Michelle nee Lissy) Bolen of Morris; four daughters, Mary Beth (Russ) Thomas of Bloomington, IL, Teresa (Charles) Doss of Morris, Jane (Robert "Bob") McCormick of Greenwood, IN and Christine (Bill) Scheibe of Joliet; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Martin Burger of Hollywood, FL, and Joseph (Jean Condron) Burger of Ft. Myers, FL; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services for Betty H. Bolen will be Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Immaculate Conception School Endowment Fund or the Jim Feeney Scholarship Fund would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at:
