Obituary of Charlene Wagner

Wagner, Charlene A. (nee Bly) Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home at age 86. Charlene was surrounded by loving family and friends throughout her life, and this continued to the moment of her passing. She will always be loved and cherished. Born in Joliet, she was a lifelong area resident, and a member of the Shorewood Church of God. She was also an avid golfer. Charlene had a deep faith and believed in God and Jesus Christ. Charlene had a big heart. She never hesitated to offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or a token of gratitude. Charlene did everything with a smile, and never missed an opportunity to make a joke or share a laugh. She had a remarkable love for any person she came in contact with, and she had an unmatchable heart for God. Her unwavering faith carried her through the darkest and brightest moments of her life. Perhaps the most memorable characteristic of Char was her patience. She always maintained both a loving smile and a strong will. She was both tender and tough. You could go to Char with any problem and not only receive unconditional support and care, but also real honest advice. Her strength, honesty, and love made her a moral compass for all of those who knew Char throughout her long life. Charlene is survived by her loving husband, Jack C. Wagner of Shorewood; two children, Paula Saenz of Shorewood, and Craig Wagner of Chicago; three grandchildren, Kaitlin Rae (Matthew LaFevre) Saenz, Jack Darrin Wagner and Christine Ann Wagner; one great-grandson, Logan Robert LaFevre; her daughter-in-law, Laura Wagner; son-in-law, David Saenz; brother and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews including Nancy Sass-Esco with whom she had a special bond. Preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna (nee Helles) Bly; two sisters, Bernice Anderson and Elizabeth (Charles) Badger; and two brothers, Earl Bly and William (Marge) Bly.
