Alice M. Walsh
(nee Hess)
Age 87, late of Elwood, passed away Monday, April 26, 2010 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born January 14, 1923 in Channahon Township, she was a lifelong Elwood resident.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Walsh (January 22, 1981); parents, Raymond and Nellie (nee Noonan) Hess; sister, Mary E. (late Robert) Forsythe; brother, Raymond William (late Dorothy) Hess; and brother-in-law, T. Raymond (late Margaret) Walsh.
Survived by five sons, Robert L. (Linda), Lawrence (Irene), John (Susan), Martin (Karen) and Edward (Donna) all of Elwood; three daughters, JoAnne (Martin) Katzmarek of Wisconsin, Mary (Thomas) Baudino of Custer Park and Nancy Walsh (Linda Mackley) of Crete; 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Francis (Evelyn) Walsh of New Lenox; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A lifetime member of St. Rose Parish in Wilmington, she was a member of St. Rose CCW, Jackson Twilighters, the Will County Farm Bureau Prime Timers, Jackson Township Historical Society and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Stone City Post.
Alice cherished her life on the farm, spending time with her family especially playing euchre with her grandchildren, and spending time with the many friends she made through her social activities and traveling.
Funeral Services for Alice M. Walsh will be Friday, April 30, 2010 at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Wilmington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Kuzma Care Cottage would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday, 2-8 p.m. at:
