Jean J. Watson
(nee Bruce)
Age 77, of Lombard, passed away November 24, 2008 peacefully and surrounded by her family. Jean was born July 11, 1931 in Chicago, and attended Joliet Township High School. She was a resident of Joliet for 40 years, and was active in the St. Ambrose Parish throughout the 1970's, as well as St. Francis Academy and Joliet Catholic High School. She was a long-standing employee of the Kmart Corporation, retiring from Kmart in 1995 after 30 years of service, with many friends and fond memories.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim "Red" Watson; and parents, Marion and Lionel Bruce.
Survived by her loving daughters, Karen (John) Urbonas, Sharon (Michael) DePoy, Patti (Bill) Duffy, and Debbie Watson; loving son, Jim (Irene) Watson; adoring grandmother of ten grandchildren, Joe (Nora), Melissa (Rich), Patrick, Maggie, Katie, Ryan, Jeff, Jon, Mary and Mike; one great-grandchild, Conor; also survived by her sister, Wanda (George) Kennedy; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends, who will miss her greatly.
Special thanks to the nursing staff, critical care staff and medical staff at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove for their compassion and professionalism.
Funeral Services for Jean J. Watson will be Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel, with Fr. John Doyle officiating. Interment will be Monday at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Easter Seals or the American Lung Association. Visitation SATURDAY 2-6 p.m. at:
