James C. Booklund
"Jim"
Age 76. Peacefully Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. Attended Joliet Township High School until he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served his Country proudly for seven years. Some of his interests were aviation, computer technology, model railroading and motorcycling. James had a passion for mechanical engineering. James retired in 1997 after over 34 years of over the road truck driving.
Preceded by his parents Harold and Helen (nee Wilmette) Booklund; three sisters Patricia (Hilliard) Bailey, Sharon Muren and Janet Donnelly.
Survived by his loving daughter Lori Ann (Jeff) Cooper; three grandchildren Jaki (Bryon) Halstead-Paszek, Jeremy Halstead all of Morris, Jason (Elizabeth) Halstead of Ottawa; three great grandchildren Jacob, Emily and Casey Lee; four sisters Kay (the late Jim) Dickinson , Judi Booklund, Suellyn Booklund and Barbara Booklund all of Joliet; and two brothers-in-law, George Donnelly and Bill Muren. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for James C. Booklund will be Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Fr. Ray Lescher officiating. Inurnment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial to the Veterans Organization of the donors choice in his name would be appreciated. Visitation Saturday morning 9:00 a.m. until time of services at :
