Obituary of Norbert Weber
Norbert O. Weber
"Norbie"
Age 79. Was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his family by his side, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Joliet, he was a lifelong Joliet area resident. A U.S. Navy Korean War veteran. A graduate of Joliet Catholic High School Class of 1949. Retired from the Will County Health Department after many years of service. Former owner and operator of Weber's Ice Cream, and the last survivor of the original Weber Dairy Family. Norbie was especially proud of being a volunteer for the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad. A volunteer for Joliet Area Community Hospice. Former religious education instructor at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, and a former Eucharistic Minister. Member of the Joliet Elks Club #296. Norbie was the ringmaster and life force of the family. We will miss him terribly, but love him forever. The best gift a father can give his children is to love their mother. Norb did this effortlessly.
Preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Marie (nee Wagner) Weber; and one brother, William "Bill" Weber.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Joann (nee Gleason) Weber of Joliet; two sons, Thomas (Karen) Weber of Glendale, AZ, and Patrick (Laurie) Weber of Secor, IL; two daughters, Mary Jo (Bob) Sadalski of Navato, CA, and Maureen (Anton Regis) Weber of Tinley Park, IL; nine grandchildren, Brad (Kristen) Weber, Jeff Weber, Maggie, Joanna and Julie Weber, Katie (Todd) Husak, Chrissy Sadalski, Patrick (Chelsey) Hayes, and Bridey Hayes; two great-grandchildren, Anna Weber and Henry Husak; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
