Obituary of Gerald Borens

Gerald L. Borens Of Morris. Passed away Friday, March 23, 2012. Graduate of Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, IL, class of 1961. Gerald had been in the insurance business for 50 years, he started with The Equitable Life Insurance company in 1961 and opened the Borens Insurance Agency in 1968. He married Marvis J. Helgeson in 1960 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He was a fan of the Morris Redskins since 1977 and the Chicago Bears. Survived by his wife, Marvis J. Borens of Morris; daughter, Lori Hoenisch of Aptos, Ca. and his son, Craig (Laura) Borens of Powell, OH; Grandsons, Michael,Scott and Matthew Hoenisch, Brock and Brogan Borens. One sister, Joan (Kenneth) Davenport of Vero Beach, FL and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Mary L. (Wills) and Leo J. Borens. Gerald L. Borens will lie in state Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Jackson St., Morris from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Roy Backus officiating.
