Obituary of Harold Wilhelmi

Harold J. Wilhelmi "Harry" Age 80. Peacefully, Tuesday, December 8, 2009, following a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. A lifelong Joliet area resident, retiring to Arizona in 1995, returning to Joliet in 2005. A graduate of Joliet Catholic High School, class of 1948. A Joliet area auto mechanic, union #701. A longtime member of the Joliet Alano Club. Harold's greatest loves in life were his family, friends, and his beloved dog, Boy. Preceded by his wife, Barbara (nee Papesh) Wilhelmi (1965); his parents; three brothers, John (Rose), Richter (Marion) and Tony Wilhelmi; three sisters, Mary Lorraine (Carl) Koenig, Anna Jane (Joseph) Kuban and Emma (Joseph) Ramsak; his sister-in-law, Margaret Wilhelmi; and special extended family, Marie, Joseph and Betty Klepec. Survived by three daughters, Mary Fran (Patrick) Colaric of Joliet, Trudie (Chris) Howard of Shorewood and Barbara (Edward) Mikula of Spring Grove, IL; two grandchildren, Katie Colaric and Eddie Mikula; two brothers, Thomas (Regina) of Joliet, and Vincent (Kay) Wilhelmi of Elgin; sister-in-law Beatrice Holmes of Wisconsin; a special extended family Sr. Elizabeth Marie O.S.F., Dolores and Fr. George Klepec; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services for Harold J. Wilhelmi will be Saturday, December 12, 2009, at 11:15 A.M. from the funeral home chapel to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon. As it was Harold's final request, cremation rites will be accorded following the Funeral Mass with private Inurnment at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Will County Humane Society in his name would be appreciated. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Timbers of Shorewood for the excellent care they provided our father. Visitation Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at: FRED C.
