Felix L. Borio
Age 90. Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Provena Villa Franciscan. Born in Seneca, IL to the late Felix and Angelina Borio, he was a resident of Joliet/Crest Hill most of his life. A graduate of Joliet Township High School, he attended Joliet Junior College. He retired from the architectural firm of Healy, Bender & Associates. He served on the Board of Directors at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home; serving as the Facilities Committee Chair from 1988 to 1992; and Chairman of the Board in 1993. He was one of the founding fathers of the City of Crest Hill. Member of the JCA Building and Grounds Committee, Bishop Imesch Council for Administration of Buildings, St. Anne Catholic Church, where he was President of the Parish Council, President of the Holy Name Society and member of St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was a 13 year member of the Lockport Township High School Board of Education, including two terms as President; and was Building Commissioner for the City of Crest Hill for nine years and served four years as Mayor. He was Co-founder and retired Chairman of the Board of Directors of St. Anne Credit Union. He enjoyed traveling, reading and fishing; and was very active in his community.
Surviving are his beloved daughter, Beverly (William) Ramuta of Crest Hill; two grandchildren, William L. Ramuta of East Greenwich, R.I. and Nanci Virgili of Joliet; three great-grandchildren, Brittany and Hannah Ramuta of East Greenwich, R.I.; and Alicia Virgili of Joliet; three sisters, Pearl Vershay, Lucille (Steve) Senko and Norma Guess all of Joliet; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his wife, Pearl E. Borio (2003); his parents; three brothers, Anthony, Frank and James Borio; and two sisters, Laura Ausec and Rosemary Weese, and an infant sister, Irene.
Funeral Services for Felix L. Borio will be Monday, December 17, 2007 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Anne Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
