James E. Williamson
"Willie"
Age 78. Peacefully, Sunday, November 23, 2008 at his residence with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. A U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Retired from Reynolds Metals Company after over 34 years of service. He was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as the Chicago Cubs.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Frances Jean (nee Peppard) Williamson; three daughters, Patricia Woodcock both of Joliet, Sandra Strezo of Channahon and Laura (Robert) McCarthy of Joliet; six grandchildren, Adam (Harmony) Woodcock; Robert, Justin, and Jacob Strezo; Jessica and Rachel McCarthy; two great-grandsons, Logan and Maxwell Woodcock; one sister, Betty (late William) Ball of Joliet; one brother-in-law, James Peppard; numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Lillian Williamson; and one sister, Delores Wilson.
Private funeral services for James E. Williamson were held. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Arrangements by:
