Obituary of William Woodard

William J. Woodard "Woody" Age 57. Passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Born March 5, 1953 in Joliet. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Anna Marie Woodard; and son, Robert W. Woodard. Survived by his loving wife, Mary Woodard; daughter, Anna Marie (fiance David Rundell) Woodard; son, Paul (fiancee Michele Rossi) Carlos; sister, Elizabeth (partner Dodie Meyer) Woodard; four grandchildren, Rachel Churchill, Kylie Woodard, Robert Woodard and Jayden Carlos. Woody was a lifelong resident of Joliet. He was a fire fighter for 30 years, and was awarded Fireman of the Year in 2007. He served proudly in the United States Army as an airborne ranger, specializing in search and rescue. His hobbies included skydiving, working with stained glass, his favorite watering hole Woodys, and spending time with his family and friends. Memorial Services for Woody will be Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
