Age 84, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born August 10, 1924 in Joliet to the late Leo P. and Mary F. (nee Legan) Bistry, she spent her young childhood on the farm in Troy Township. She attended St. John Grade School and graduated from Joliet Township High School.
Survived by her daughters, Carol Webber and Rita Zorba; one granddaughter, Jennifer (Eric) Hernandez; great-granddaughter, Maya Rose and another due any day; also survived by one sister, Doris (Alfred) Papesh and her nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Yaggy" Jagodnik; parents; two brothers in infancy;
her son-in-law John C. "Jack" Webber and her best friends, Edie Belle Tank and Donna Black.
Claire was an accomplished musician, who in her younger years, performed on several radio shows and played the accordion regularly at Perush's Tavern. A warm hearted people person, Claire spent over 30 years as a receptionist at Supreme Radiator and Body Company greeting all with a friendly smile. In later years, she found solitude and joy taking care of her home and her pets, Laddie, Flea and Mewsette. She was a fan of game shows and crossword puzzles.
As it was Claire's wish, cremation rites have been accorded.
All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at the Church of St. Jude, 2212 McDonough St., Joliet, from 9:30 a.m. until the Memorial Mass begins at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice, Masses or the charity of donor's choice would be appreciated. Arrangements by:
