Obituary of Joan Yandura

Joan L. Yandura (nee Kovach) Age 74. Passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Silver Cross Hospital with her family by her side. Born June 14, 1934 in Joliet, she was a lifetime resident. Joan was a secretary for local attorneys, James Burke and John McGarry. After raising her family, she returned to secretarial work for JJC and then at Dr. Morrison's office for 17 years. She enjoyed arranging flowers, and was past President of the Mothers Club of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Parish where she was a long time member. Beloved wife of nearly 55 years to Joseph G. Yandura; loving mother of Michelle Yandura and Debra (John) Mahurin; fond grandmother of Jason Kropinski and Timothy Dobbins; Michael Hogan, Daniel Hogan and Amanda Mahurin; great-grandmother of Madison Kropinski; also survived by her sister, Dottie (late Al) Lauterbach; brother-in-law, Donald Heintz; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Melissa Kropinski; her parents, George and Anna Kovach; and one sister, Mary Ann Heintz. Joan's family would like to extend many thanks to the nurses and staff of fourth avenue at Sunny Hill Skilled Nursing and Rehab Centre for their warmth and excellent care. Funeral Services for Joan L. Yandura will be Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 8:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment Ss.
