Robert W. Yankey
"Yank"
Age 72. Suddenly, Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at his late residence, as the result of apparent heart failure. Born in Chester, IL, he was a lifelong Joliet area resident. A graduate of Chester High School. Retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1988 with over 31 years of service as a welder. His greatest loves in life were spending time with family and friends, bowling, and golfing. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Jenny Yankey; and one brother, Gary Yankey.
Survived by one son, Steven (Rita, nee Kochevar) Yankey of Joliet; one grandson, Matthew Sisson of Joliet; two brothers, Darrell (Betty) Yankey of North Manchester, IN, and Ronald (Marilyn) Yankey of Joliet; his daughter-in-law's parents and good friends, Don and Jan Kochevar of Joliet; nieces, nephews and many close friends also survive.
Funeral Services for Robert W. Yankey will be Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. As it was Bob's request, Cremation Rites will be accorded following funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Will County Humane Society or Joliet Town and Country Lanes Grand Prix Scholarship Fund (Junior Bowlers) would be appreciated.
