Obituary of William Prater

Prater Jr. William L. Age 58, passed away suddenly Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Born June 22, 1954 in Dyersburg, TN, he was a lifelong resident of Joliet. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972-1974. Bill was a certified building and grounds maintenance professional, working for St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church and Deerbrook Care Center. Bill was a loving father, grandfather and brother whose time with us was much too short. Survived by his devoted life partner of 30 years, Sandra (Rivera) Wilson; his children, Amanda Marie Prater-Hayes, William Prater III, Eddie Prater, Heidi (Roggie) Vetter, Joshua (Megan Negron) Prater, Rachel Prater, Christopher (Patty) Robinette, Holly (James) Moore, Amanda J. Wilson and Nathan (Shelly) Wilson; 40 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Daniel (Sandy) Prater, Michael Prater and Richard (Chris) Prater; many nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles including Jack (Nancy) Prater and Margie Galloway. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Betty (nee Patterson) Prater, Sr. Funeral Services for William L. Prater, Jr. will be Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be Monday, at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery for services at 10:30 a.m. Visitation Sunday 3-6 p.m. at: FRED C.
