I met Tom last year at the Chicago Golf Show. We were tasked with teaching local golf enthusiasts how to play better golf... something Tom had been doing much longer than myself! It was a fabulous day as we shared stories and teaching theories and agreed on just about everything! Truly a great man and I wish his family the best through this holiday season
To the family:
I'm so sadden by the loss of my friend, mentor, coach, and "step-father." I knew Tommy since I was 10... now 35. He saw me through everything. As I write this, know that my world will never be the same without him. He is the reason I am a golf professional myself. I aspired to be him. Tommy was one of the greats and I will always take to heart what he taught me about life and golf. A true gentleman and a great role model. I miss him dearly... The world is a lesser place without him. Sincerely Tim Vander Biezen...aka Timmer as Tommy called me.
To a great coach, mentor, business associate and friend. We will never forget all the great times and adventures we had. Tom did so much for young people. He was truly a leader in his field and represented the PGA and St. Francis proudly. He will be missed.
With Love, Tim, Jack and Teresa
Coach Tom will be greatly missed, and was a true inspiration to everyone. It was an honor to play on his golf team at USF. No one has as much faith in my golf gam as Coach did. I will never forget all of our trips, all of the laughs, and how much we all grew closer over the years.
A coach, to a friend, to a family member. We were blessed to have you in our lives. Life with out you is still unbelievable, but now we have an angel watching down on us. Always critiquing our golf swings. We love you Tom.
Tom was a great mentor to me and a caring teacher and supporter of the girls on our team. I'm so glad I got to talk to him one final time last week. Our prayers are with his family.
Tom was a wonderful man. He was a dear friend that was always a big supporter for our team at Robert Morris as well as a guiding influence on Jill's carreer in golf. He will be sorely missed.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family! I had the great opportunity of meeting Coach Tom during my college golf years. He was a wonderful man with a big heart. He was like a second coach to my team. You'll be missed Tornado Tom.
