St George, John J.
"Big John"
Age 70, of Joliet, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, December 10, 2012. He was born in Hungary on October 3, 1942 to Helen (nee Sari) and Joseph St George, he moved to Joliet in 1957.
Beloved husband of 51 years to Carole A. (nee Marchio); loving father of Kimberly (Kirk) Lindquist of Joliet, Joseph (Laura) St George of Byron, IL, John (Joyce) St George of Braidwood and Tiffany (Joey Garcia) Bachman of Joliet; dearest son of Helen Berki; proud and devoted grandfather of Corrine and Erik Lindquist; Adam and Samantha St George; Danielle and Jessica St George; and Taylor Bachman; dear brother of Helen (Joseph) Gangel, Joe (Delmi) St George, Irene Stiller, Leslie (Paula) St George, Julius (Jackie) St George and Pindi (Randy) Christopher; fond brother-in-law of Sam (Mary-Jo) Marchio Jr.; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his father, Joseph; brother, Sonny St George; and sister, Eva Ohla.
Big John retired from Yellow Freight in February of 2000 and was previously employed by the former Goldblatt's Department Store. He also worked part-time for O.L. Thompson, a mail service company. He was a long time member of the Teamsters Union Local #179; member of the American Legion Post #1080 and the Joliet Elks Lodge #296.
John's family will always be grateful to Dr. Philip Bonomi, Dr. Michael Liptay and the staff of Rush University Medical Center, as well as Dr. David Calimag of New Lenox, for their expert care and compassion.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the American Lung Association would be appreciated. Arrangements by:
