Obituary of Gilbert Parthun

Parthun, Gilbert W. Age 90. Friday, December 14, 2012 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Joliet on July 30, 1922 to the late Joseph and Theresa (nee Arentz) Parthun, he was a lifetime resident. Gil sold auto parts at various Joliet locations, and in younger years was an auto mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and was an original Joliet "picker" collecting treasures from area garage sales and various other sources. Gil is survived by several nieces and nephews, and his sister-in-law, Louise Parthun. Preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Helen J. (nee Nowosielski) Parthun; his parents; one brother, Clarence and one sister, Geri Wagner. Funeral Services for Gilbert W. Parthun will be Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 10:45 a.m. from the funeral home to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.
