Obituary of Merle Geddes

Geddes, Merle J. (nee Lauterbach) Age 73. At rest Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born and raised in Joliet to the late Elmer and Naomi (nee Head) Lauterbach. She lived in Florida for 16 years until returning home one year ago. Graduate of Plainfield High School, Class of 1958. Former member of the 4H Club, she was involved with the PTA and member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Merle enjoyed needlework including crocheting. Surviving are her loving husband of 54 years, Thomas C. Geddes of Plainfield; two daughters, Deborah (Gary) Vanderwall of Plainfield and Tammy Shepherd of Lambertville, MI; four grandchildren, Kelly (Joel) Sheets, Christopher (Francesca) Vanderwall, Amy and Katie Shepherd; two great-grandchildren, Vance and Rachel Sheets. Funeral Services for Merle J. Geddes will be Thursday, December 20, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
