Obituary of Norene Brandt

Brandt, Norene T. (Nee Murphy) Age 81. At rest Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Jackson Twp., IL to the late Leo and Katherine (Vetter) Murphy, she was a lifelong eastside resident of Joliet. Member of St. Mary Magdalene C.C.W., Past C.C.W. Woman of the Year, member of Ingalls Park A.C. Women's Auxillary. Norene loved to cook, bake, a good cup of coffee and a good card game. Surviving are her five children, Cheryl (late, Gene) Williams of Joliet, Colleen Allison of Joliet, Susan (Tom) Absher of North Carolina, Jeffrey (Annette) Brandt of Braidwood and James (Diana) Brandt of Joliet; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Jean Gaffey of Owensboro, KY, Molly (late, Raymond) Glog, Kay (Edwin) Buckman and Barbara (Riley) Stover all of Joliet; four brothers, David (Marlene) Murphy of Manhattan, Leo (Ginny) Murphy of Joliet, William Murphy of Joliet and Joseph (Donna) Murphy of New Lenox; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive. Preceded by her husband, Kenneth Brandt (2003); his granddaughter, Crystal Marie Brandt; four brothers, Bernard, Gerald, George and Patick Murphy; dear friend, Ann Chierigatti. Funeral services for Norene T. Brandt will be Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Manhattan.
