Landreth, Mary Ellen
(nee Yohnka)
Age 84. Suddenly Monday, December 17, 2012 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Kankakee and a longtime Joliet area resident. A graduate of Silver Cross Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1949 and Momence High School. A registered nurse retiring after many years of service in both hospital and home healthcare. A former member of the First Baptist Church of Joliet and regularly attended the Judson Baptist Church. She served as a member of the Independent Order of Foresters, the Church Women United and Christian Women.
Preceded in death by her husband, Merle Landreth (1988); her granddaughter, Angelina Landreth; her parents and her brother, Thurman Yohnka.
Survived by two daughters, Beverly (Jim Massey) Moss of Shorewood and Brenda (Bill) Moss of North Carolina; three sons, Daniel Landreth of Rockford, IL, Dale (Wendy) Landreth and Donald (Beverly) Landreth both of Colorado; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services for Mary Ellen Landreth will be Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Pastor Kevin Comfort officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials in her memory to Judson Baptist Church would be appreciated. Visitation Friday 2-8 p.m. at:
