Steven A. Bravato
Age 41. Passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, surrounded by his loving family. Born August 24, 1968 in Joliet, he was a graduate of St. Patrick's Grade School, Joliet Township Central High School, and the University of Illinois Chicago. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Sergeant, and serving as a Marine Security Guard protecting American Embassies in various countries. Employed by Amoco BP in Willowbrook as an accountant.
Steven was a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle. He also loved to play basketball.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Oriana (nee van der Hoeven) Bravato of Shorewood; his loving daughter, Sydney Oriana Nicole Bravato; his mother, Betty (nee Drauden) Bravato; six brothers, Bob (Molly), Larry (Beth), Nick (JoAnn), Otto, Tom (Barb) and John Bravato; five sisters, Bev Sanderson, Linda (Ken) Zbacnik, Mary Pat (John) Frye, Barbara Ludwig, and Phyllis (Guy) Wimberly; his wife's mother, Joan van der Hoeven; his sister-in-law, Marianne Waddell; an uncle, Lenny (Mary Ann) Bravato; an aunt, Delores Inouye; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his father, Nicholas Bravato; and his father-in-law, Sydney van der Hoeven.
The family would like to thank Joliet Area Community Hospice for all their caring support.
Funeral services for Steven A. Bravato will be Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Patrick Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials to the Steven Bravato Memorial Fund would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday, from 3-8 p.m. at:
