Obituary of Theresa Rice

Rice, Teresa Mary (nee Horner) Age 56. Passed away peacefully Thursday, January 3, 2013 at home with her loving family, after an 8-year battle with ovarian cancer. Born November 29, 1956 in England to Katherine and Henry Horner, she came with her family to the U.S. at the age of 11. A 1975 graduate of Lyons Township High School, she enjoyed traveling, music, photography, gardening and was very devoted to her family and friends. Survived by her loving husband, Steven; her son, Thomas and daughter, Amy, all of Minooka; stepdaughter, Jodine (Bill) Green; step-grandson Brock; her mother, Katherine Horner; her brothers, David (Sharon) Horner and Anthony Horner; sisters-in-law, Katherine (Dan) Brookman and Donna (Jim) Sarama; several nieces, nephews, a great niece and great nephew. Preceded in death by her father, Henry Horner. The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to Dr. Julian Schink and the nursing staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for all their care and support the past 8 years, and also to the Joliet Area Community Hospice staff for their kind support. Funeral Services for Teresa Mary Rice will be Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Manhattan Center Cemetery.
