Obituary of James Fenili

James E. Fenili Age 74, a lifetime Joliet resident, passed away comfortably, under hospice care, Monday, January 28, 2013. He served six years in the USMC reserves. Jim retired from Stepan Chemical after nearly 30 years of service. Beloved husband of 53 years to Peggy (nee Minella); loving father of Karen (Paul) Betzwiser, Jim (Lori) Fenili and Debbie (Mike) Matuszewski; six beautiful and loving grandchildren, Lauryn Lee, Matt Betzwiser, Paige, Jim Jr., and Stephanie Fenili and Taylor Matuszewski. Three brothers, Sam (Brenda), Denny and Ray (Janet) Fenili. Two sisters-in-law, Ginger and Bev Fenili. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be missed by his canine companions, Stevie and Wrigley. Preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Virgil Fenili; three brothers, Ralph, Richard and Bosco Fenili; great niece, Ashlee Koerner and mother-in-law, Delphine Minella and his paw-pals, Dukie and Snickers. The Fenili family will forever be grateful to Dr. Chawla and the staff of Sun Health Dialysis and Dr. Jason Suh and JOHA for the excellent care Jim received. In addition, special thanks to his granddaughter Lauryn Lee for her help and TLC these past years, as well as Karen and Debbie for always being there. Jim never met a stranger and will be remembered for his humorous hospitality; an avid cubs fan, he enjoyed trips to Joliet OTB and the Dubuque River Boat Casino and Dog Track with family and friends. To Mr. Bill and Tuna; this road trip I must take alone. Funeral services for Jim Fenili will be held Friday, February 1, 2013, 11:15 a.m. from the funeral home to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon. Per Jim's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded after Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim's name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
